In 2014, 17 years after the inauguration of sonig records, a record label for experimental electronic and non-genre specific music, Mouse on Mars have launched yet another platform for unconventional sound production: “MoMinstruments”. The first release on what the group calls “a label for software instruments” was “WretchUp” and effect-instrument for the iphone. Designed by Mouse on Mars, developed by Florian Grote and Peter Kirn and finalized by Oliver Greschke is a “monster of feedback delay madness” (CDM blog). The second release was “Elastic Drums” a modular drumsynthesizer with extreme sound manipulation possibilities by Oliver Greschke. The first edition of “Elastic Drums” was conceived specifically for the iphone but will be extended into a more elaborate ipad version in early 2015. Oliver Greschke is also co-running MoMinstruments with Jan St. Werner and Andi Toma from Mouse on Mars and together they will develop and curate more new radical and intuitive software instruments in the near future.
Elastic Drums is a music app with 6 channels of synthesized drum sounds, a step sequencer and 4 fx channels, all tweakable in an elastic way.
